I’m Gabriel Agranoff — creative producer and studio lead.
I tell stories of a place rather than about a place.
In the meantime, here’s a selection of work. If something here resonates, get in touch.

An experimental short documentary telling the tale of the Galápagos Islands through their living, breathing sounds. Structured as a musical symphony across six movements, the piece uses field recordings to shape the narrative and form.
Each of these movements has its own emotional register and creative approach: we move from the primordial stillness of the overture, through the kinetic chaos and later resolution to a dance of the wildlife’s battle to survive, to an untethered dream sequence before returning, grounded, to the rituals of the islands’ human stewards.
A guide featuring abstractly across the piece is our vessel through which we can experience the islands. He never presents anything, the islands simply speak through him.
Currently in post-production. Director’s cut coming soon.

Moving away from the fast-paced montage travel content of Beautiful Destinations, this is a slower, meditative portrait of miniature artist Babu Lal Marotia: observational and explorative of a person within a culture. It tells his story, not a voyeuristic look from the outside.

Most travel content puts the place first and the person second. This film inverts that and we suddenly become emotionally attached to the destination. Told through a voicemail back home to her mum; we’re not just watching someone travel, we’re seeing what travel can do to you.

Two characters whose paths almost interweave but never do. This film plays with missed connections and what it means to experience the same place differently. The human stories are foregrounded - we want to see the world through their eyes.
Commissioning Editor / Creative Producer
These are in-production flagship films from the Beautiful Stories format I developed within BD Originals: commissioning emerging directors from around the world to tell stories from within a location, not the outside looking in. Each follows my core philosophy: find a compelling narrative, treat it with care, and tell it in a creatively ambitious way.
WIP cuts available upon request.
Ghana

A film about Ghana’s Kakamotobi festival. We follow a masquerade figure using ritual, performance and tradition to explore the philosophy behind the mask.
Brazil
Director: Helene Doetsch
Fabio Nativo tells his story to a young boxer who is training for his first fight. We see his journey from a youth in the favelas to a community leader unfold before us, with the younger Nativo being played by the boxer-in-training in symbolic retellings of the past.
Nepal
Director: Eric Matt
Dipesh Nepali is a plein air painter from the untouchable caste. This film explores how he uses art to transcend those boundaries and find a deeper connection with the natural world.
Branded Work
Creative Producer
Cinematic, destination-led films for one of the world’s most recognisable airlines. With a small, agile team, we were ready to deploy anywhere, move quickly and deliver at scale. My role spanned pre-production through post: shaping the creative in the planning stages, on the ground and managing edits.
Creative Producer
Produced multiple shoots across three continents as part of a 20+ destination campaign for one of the world’s largest hospitality groups. Each shoot had to work as destination marketing, brand content and hotel showcase simultaneously, without the creative getting stale over the course of the campaign. Fast turnaround times, complex logistics and award-winning work were all central to this project.

A Christmas tree is planted in a local park in the dead of night. What follows is a film about grief, memory, and new life - told across four seasons with a wildlife camera, a telephone call to the council, and three party hats.

A botanical answer to Tiny Desk Concerts - live sessions across folk, classical and jazz, shot in my parents’ greenhouse where Dan’s sound design turns the space itself into an instrument. Two episodes in. More coming.
